GET TO KNOW ME and SBX RACING
My Background
My slideshow on the Home page and the experience page will have a detailed description of when I started racing and my journey along the way. To summarize those pages into one, I have been racing SBX for the past five years and snowboarding since I was six. I currently race in the USASA organization and have my first set of Hole-shot competitions this 2023-2024 season. I train with a team called RipTurn and have been with them for the last three seasons; we train year-round and are based in upstate Michigan over in Gaylord.

WHAT IS SBX RACING?
SBX is a sport where 4-5 snowboard racers are placed in a gate at the top of a 45-60 second long course. The gate is randomly dropped after the cadence "riders ready...Attention" is said. The courses vary depending on the competition skill set and location, but they are made up of a variation of rollers, berms, jumps, and other technical features. The courses are similar to motocross courses. Time trails (which are done individually) are done at the beginning of each race in order to determine seeding for brackets. In bracket racing, the top two finishers advance to the next bracket until the finals, where four riders battle head-to-head to get a podium finish. The top three overall riders get a podium finish and receive medals at the award ceremony.
